What is the meaning of marketing?
Is every person who sells a product can be called as marketers?

When speaking with a group of people who become real estate agent, they always say that they are marketing people. And they work more on business sale.

I do not blame them. General industry really relies on the salesperson as property and insurance, see the marketers and sellers as it made no difference. For them, marketing the product meant yes, sell. Because, whether or not purchased their products would depend on the ability of agents to sell their products. There may be some percent of buyers who buy because they feel confident of the product. But most consumers buy because the salesperson drive. Especially when talking about the insurance industry where the product with another one like it makes no difference, then the ability of insurance agents who play a role. The term marketing is also used in many companies to cover bad consumer perceptions of the seller. Many consumers perceive sellers to be a very pushy, cunning and a lot of talking. Therefore, the term is also often a lot of marketers use.

The term marketing is also often associated with 4P. Economic subjects and the English language many call 4P as a marketing concept as the chapter on the marketing offensive. 4P is defined as: Product, Price, Place and Promotion. Products related to what products are sold, price comes into effect on the prices of these products, place regarding how the product is distributed and promotion regarding how to promote these products.

Of 4P, which stands out most is the promotion. That is why, many people also equate marketing (only) with the promotion. And 4P itself has developed into 5P, 6P, 14P even! An example is the Public Relations (PR). Formerly included as a PR campaign activity. But with the increasingly powerful public relations as an important communication event, people began marketing and public relations PR release from the Campaign.

So it is with the people who work in the field of service, they put one more element in the P's, namely process. The reason, the process of a service is something that is important. People enjoy the service because the process is given. Although the product sold well, but if the service was bad, people can not content

If I try to define in a simple way, then marketing is an effort to move products or services to consumers in order to create satisfaction in the consumer and the value of the company. Move the product or service to consumers is not as simple as imagined. Consumers can refuse because they feel no need for these products. It could also have needs, but products are not attractive or cost is too expensive. Or it could be because the product is less well known or difficult to obtain. So, move products or services to the consumer has many challenges.

Even when the products or services have reached the consumer, the next challenge is, if consumers are also satisfied enough to accept our products and services again? Even if they were satisfied, another challenge, whether the company and then lose it?

So marketing is a series of strategies, tactics and actions are so long that the company made products to the consumer, giving satisfaction to them and create value for the company. Value here is not only profit but also other things like the image, credibility and even the stock price on the stock. Marketing is not only needed by the company but also by non-profit institutions such as government, social institutions and NGOs.

Even the marketing we need in our lives everyday. For example, in finding a job, we must have a strategy so that we can resume ogled by a headhunter. Even in the interview, we must have the ability to market ourselves so that they are interested to make us their employees.

So marketing can not be interpreted as selling or advertising it. Overall element in marketing is important and mutually supportive. Uniquely, the science of marketing is not an exact science. Diutak marketing knowledge can manipulate as needed. Strategy that fits on a single product may not fit on other products. Even marketing can make a product that was not needed consumer can become a necessity. So marketers are somewhat against the base of economic theory on demand (need) and desire (want) because they can be shaped by marketing. The proof, ten years ago people could live a normal life without mobile phones. Now the difficult living comfortably without a mobile phone!
